JUDICIAL DISTRICT 29A — District attorney Ted Bell accepted the resignations of two of his Superior Court prosecutors. Assistant District Attorney Michelle McEntire who worked in the McDowell County office tendered her resignation earlier this month effective at the end of July.
McEntire has been an assistant district attorney in McDowell since 2007, after graduating from Campbell Law School. She also attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, earning a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in social work. While the district attorney would not comment on personnel matters, backlash over the controversial recent rape trial case dismissal could be a factor.
McCalman has accepted a new position in Charlotte.
